The December newsletter has been posted; it’s laden with Christmas greetings, and the latest round of news from the club. This month’s BC biography features John Henry Powell, whose career in British Columbia begins at Valentine & Sons United Publishing Co. Ltd. and leads to a long career at the Coast Publishing Company. Fred Hume’s article “From Out in Left Field” looks back at the historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, as well as the Cub’s earlier home, West Side Park. And during Ivan Sayers’ recent presentation to the Club, he showed this painted skirt from Mexico and mentioned that he believes likely the scenes of Vancouver, Victoria and Banff were painted from postcard views. If you’ve seen similar views in a postcard set, please let us know.
A Happy Christmas To You
