Looking forward to a busy fall for the Vancouver Postcard Club!

Bruce Macdonald will be our first fall speaker on Sunday, Sept. 13th, 2015. His topic:  ‘Listening to old photos: a visual history of the New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse club.’

This illustrated presentation is about the four New Westminster merchants that backed the lacrosse team in the early years of the 20th century. Postcard images were invaluable when I created my book Salmonbellies vs. The World: The story of the world’s most famous lacrosse team and their greatest rivals (Caitlin Press, 2013). The presentation relies heavily on these postcard images.

Meeting time and location: Sunday, September 13th, 2015 starting at 11:30 am with postcard trading.  Hastings Community Centre, 3096 E. Hastings, Vancouver.
