Seattle’s 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE or AYP for short) celebrated the Alaska gold rush, and the State of Washington’s economy and culture and cultures of the Pacific with exhibits from and about Japan, the Philippines, and Alaska and Vancouver, BC.
M. Diane Rogers will show and discuss some of the hundreds and hundreds of AYP postcards featuring buildings, exhibits, people and memories of the Fair.
Vancouver Postcard Club meeting time and location:
Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 12 noon. Located at the Hastings Community Centre downstairs Board Room, 3096 E. Hastings, Vancouver, BC. Postcard trading and socializing begins at 11:30 am. and continues after the presentation if time allows. The event wraps up by 2 pm.
Our monthly meetings are open to both Club members and members of the public.
