The next Vancouver Postcard Club meeting will be WEDNESDAY EVENING, February 15, 2017 doors open at 7:00 pm, with presentation beginning at 7:30 pm at the Hastings Community Centre in Meeting Room 9.
Note we are making this change to our schedule for February only – back to the second Sunday of the month in March.
Our speaker will be Philip Francis on “Celebrating Canada Through Patriotic Postcards“.
To mark the 150th anniversary of Canada’s confederation in 2017, Philip Francis will present a selection of postcards from his collection of Canadian patriotic postcards. The collection of over 1,500 postcards covers the period from the Boer War to World War II and celebrates Canada’s coming of age with a strong and proud national identity. This is the first public viewing of Philip’s patriotic collection and we invite members to bring a friend to enjoy this special evening presentation.
Tea and coffee will be served.
All interested in postcards and Canadian history are welcome to attend.
