Old Postcard/Photo of Beatty Street?

Doug Jones is hoping to find an image/postcard that shows his great grandfather’s (George Jones) blacksmith shop at 571 Beatty Street. The shop was there for a few decades starting in the late 1890’s, but he has never been able to find a photograph of it. George Jones arrived in Vancouver in the 1890’s and he and his brother Charles opened a blacksmith shop in the rear of 571 Beatty Street, apparently on a lot shared by the Hall & Wallace Carriage Works.

Please contact Doug at doug@douglasjones.com if you can help.

Doug sent us this image of his great grandfather (on the left) at the Big Tree in Stanley Park .
