Next Sunday May 19th VPC meeting presentation will be postcards and history of “Mining in Southern British Columbia”, by Peter Jacobi. Peter is a retired Metalurgist who worked many years for Cominco, and has exhibited numerous award-winning postal history displays across Canada. More recently, he has begun adding postcards and other mining-related collectible items to these displays, to illustrate and better tell the stories of BC’s mining history.
The meeting starts at 11:30am, with presentation at 12:30pm. Come out and trade postcards, chat with other members, and enjoy a fascinating display of BC’s mining history.
Reminder, anyone wishing to display some cards at the upcoming May 26th Postcard Show (it only takes 8 – 12 cards to make a theme presentation), Tim Woodland has extra frames available for free loan, to mount your display.
