Guest Speaker – Peter Lowery [ B.A. Concordia U., Major Art History] is a Freelance Professional Photographer, living in Vancouver. He has published Book & Album covers , Front page Newspaper & Magazine covers and his assignments have included Kodak, Time , B.C. Place, Expo 86 , the Space Shuttle and even a few Postcards!! On an “Around the World ” 17 country Photo Expedition, he took 8,000 images on Film, and returned to a $4,000 photofinishing bill. Many Photo Awards, 1st Winner “Vancouver Photo Marathon”, Chinatown, PNE & most recently for past 2 years, the “Knowlton Trophy” from Western Canadian Photographic Historical Association, for “Best Photo taken with Camera over 50 years old”. One of his other specialities is that he works mostly in 3D. He will display a collection of 3D Lenticular Postcards as well as cameras with 4 lenses used to create them. Through the use of several Wooden, Leather and Brass Field & Panoramic Cameras as well as Antique Photos & props, he will discuss the life of early photographers, on their quest to capture the grandeur of the Western wilderness as well as every day scenes. Samples of hand colored B&W enlargements will demonstrate their high skill, and artistic technique that allowed them to succeed, and introduce the World to our Natural Wonders.
